Authors' ears
are sensitive
Quivering
at the slightest
change in tone
Sheltering
a whispered secret
or the tiniest of truths
Admiring
a turn of phrase
turned inside out
Cradling
the conversation of strangers
snatched in passing
Tuning in
to the static
of cicadas
Bringing
background noise
to center stage
Oh, I love this. The importance of sharing our writing...and the anxiety our kids feel when they are asked to. I will keep this in mind when I return to my classroom.
